I have been doodling and writing almost my entire life. As a child, my parents would encourage my creative endeavors by “purchasing” books that I wrote and illustrated. Both are almost meditative, a way to coalesce focus and creative energy.
I wrote/illustrated the premise of Grade A Jumbo Egg when I was a teenager for a friend who was going through a difficult time. Unbeknownst to me, my sister saved the doodle, and rediscovered it many years ago. When my niece, Vivienne, was born in 2017, I became inspired to finish the book and create something for her to remember the message that she is equipped to handle whatever life throws her way. Along the way, I have been egg-cited to find that the message has resonated with adults as much as it has with Vivi and my nieces and nephew Catarina, Franky, and Valentina.
